What we believe... The Scriptures We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible. We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God’s preservation of His word to every generation. The Masoretic Text (Old Testament) Textus Receptus (New Testament) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use. The King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. It is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God, therefore the final authority in all things (II. Tim. 3:16-17). The Trinity We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power, and have the same attributes and perfections (I John 5:7; Matt.28:19).
Jesus Christ We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, that He was supernaturally begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. He is the only begotten Son of God therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ, sinless, omnipotent, omniscient, and Saviour of sinners (Matt. 1:20-21, John 1:14; 1:16). We believe in the literal, physical, bodily resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His literal, physical, bodily ascension into Heaven and in His present work there as High Priest and Advocate for us (Heb. 9:24; I Tim. 2:5-6). The Holy Spirit We believe at the time of the new birth the believer immediately receives the Holy Spirit. Forever indwelt by the Holy Spirit as Comforter, Teacher, and Guide. If yielded to Him, is filled by the Spirit for service (John 1:32-34; Acts 1:8). Man We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Gen. 1:26-27; Eph. 2:1-3). Salvation We believe that the message of salvation is “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” We believe salvation is “by grace” plus nothing minus nothing. We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe once saved we are kept by God’s power and secure in Christ forever (John 1:12; Romans 8:1; I Peter 1:4-5). The Church We believe that a local church is a group of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together to carry out the great commission and the two ordinances (baptism by immersion, The Lords Supper). We believe the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control (Acts 14: 27; Acts 13:1-4). Biblical Separation We believe that all believers should be separated from Worldly practices and sinful pleasures, religious apostasy, and all false doctrine and live a life pleasing to the God who saved them. The Return of Christ We believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal, literal and visible pretribulational, premillenial return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (I Thess. 4:13-18). Eternal Estate We believe Heaven is a real place that is the eternal home of all who by faith claim the salvation of Christ. We believe Hell is a real place that is the eternal home of all who die without Christ as their Saviour. (John 14:1-3; Luke 16:19-31).
